Which area do you cover?
Are you inclusive?
What should I wear?
What if it rains?
Can you recommend a location?
Can you take photos in my house?
Do I get colour or black and white photos?
Do you retouch photos?
I am based between Bristol and Bath and cover the entire region with travel included in my prices. If you'd like me to cover an event outside the area, I can charge a reasonable travel fee. Please get in contact for a quote!
All families are welcome to book with me and I will take your photos to the best of my ability, regardless of where you are from, your gender identities, sexual orientation, race, ages, disabilities or religion. I aim to create a safe environment for everyone to be themselves and get photos that really represent them.
The most important thing is that you are wearing something you love and that you feel comfortable in.
Single block colours without an obvious pattern like stripes tend to look best in photos, and slogans or graphics can detract from faces and make the photos look dated. I would avoid sequins, neon colours or reflective materials. Have a look at what colours work with your eyes. If you hold up different tops against yourself or your child, you will find that one colour makes your eyes shine. Often this is a mid blue, green, purple or wine red. It is best to avoid cream or beige coloured clothes as they can blend in with skin.
If you are having photos of several people, such as a whole family, it can look really good to coordinate. For example you could pick a colour that each person's outfit contains somewhere, without all wearing the same thing!
If you would like any help, please email me before the shoot and I'm happy to advise you.
Light rain can actually make for some really good photos! You can get really good light and children can have lots of fun splashing in puddles or posing under umbrellas. If the rain is really heavy, I will do my best to rearrange the session.
Yes, I can. Please get in touch with what you would like to get out of the session and I'm happy to suggest good locations.
Yes absolutely. You can get some lovely shots of children doing their normal activities, jumping on beds, playing with their toys. I'll bring lights, so it does not matter if your house is fairly dark. Don't worry if your house is not tidy, I won't take wide shots, but focus on the children.
I will provide a mixture of both, depending on what suits the photo. If both look good, you will get a choice of the two.
I do clean up the photos to remove marks or little bits of dirt. I will not remove anything that is part of you like moles, scars or smooth skin unless you specifically ask me to.
